Notice: What is directly described or observed?
Try: Write one statement as literally as possible, without metaphor or explanation.
Concept
Notice: Which psychological idea is being used?
Try: Name the framework and ask what it explains well and what it leaves out.
Symbol
Notice: Where does the symbolic or archetypal reading begin?
Try: Phrase it as a possibility: ‘this image could be read as…’.
Personal response
Notice: What did this evoke in you?
Try: Describe your reaction in the first person without turning it into a universal conclusion.
